Philadelphia Phillies MLB Baseball Collection

The Phillies were established in 1883 under the name The Philadelphia Quakers. In 1984 the name was changed to the Philadelphians, but the newspaper had trouble fitting it on the pages and began shortening it to Phillies; and the name stuck. They have called some historic places home, from Shibe Park and Veterans Stadium, to Citizens Bank Park that opened its gates in 2004. The 2x World Series Champions had some big names on those 2 Championship teams. In the 80’s they had Steve Carlton, Mike Schmidt, Larry Bowa and Pete Rose. The 2008 team had its own icons in Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins and Cole Hamels. The team is currently rebuilding, with a bright future, led by Bryce Harper.
