Originally named the Florida Marlins, before changing to Miami in 2012, they were an expansion team in 1993. 2x World Series Champions, in 1997 and 2003. They are also the 1st MLB team to win a World Series as a Wild Card team. They shared Sun Life Stadium with the Miami Dolphins until 2012, when Loan Depot Park opened its gates in downtown Miami, FL. Fans remember the early days of Édgar Renteria, Bobby Bonilla and Moisés Alou leading them to their 1st Championship. Just as well as they remember Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera helping them win the 2nd just 6 years later. After several seasons at the bottom of the rankings, the Marlins are looking up.
